Defibrillator project
Cranleigh Hospital League of Friends has made it a priority to help keep the community safe by funding and supporting the ongoing maintenance of public defibrillators across the village. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time and a defibrillator can make the difference between life and death.
We are proud to work in partnership with the Cranleigh Lions, who help us to check, maintain, and raise awareness of the defibrillators. There are now 17 publicly accessible defibrillators located across Cranleigh, providing quick access to life-saving equipment for residents, visitors, and local businesses. You can see a map showing where the defibrillators are located on Cranleigh Parish Council’s website.
The collaboration with Cranleigh Lions reflects our shared commitment to keeping health care local and accessible for everyone. Together, in 2025, we have:
- Expanded the network of publicly accessible defibrillators
- Unveiled a new defibrillator at Park Mead
- Raised awareness about the location of the defibrillators with the Defibrillator Investigator Treasure Trail
How to get involved
There are several ways to get involved in the defibrillator project. You can:
- Make a donation towards the cost of a new defibrillator or the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the existing units
- Volunteer and help us raise awareness about the location of the life-saving equipment. Contact us to enquire about how to get involved.
