Cranleigh Hospital League of Friends have had the pleasure of taking part in this year’s annual Christmas Tree Festival at St Nicolas Church.
A team of volunteers which included Stella Gravill, Di Christie, Steve Shutts, Linda King, Kay Bentley and Robyn Bentley, combined their creative talents to design a Christmas tree centred around a healthcare theme.
Using an imaginative assortment of medical items, the group transformed their tree with decorations including redundant syringes and blood test phials as baubles, feeding tubes as tinsel, cotton wool snowflakes, skeleton gingerbread men, and a toy nurse proudly positioned at the top.
From now until Monday 8 December, the public can visit the Christmas Tree Festival and vote for their favourite tree. The winners will be announced on the final day of the festival.
Steve Shutts who organised the Friends’ entry into the festival said: “We had lots of fun decorating our tree. I had no idea that medical paraphernalia could look so festive and decorative! Do visit the festival and whilst there, please cast your vote for the Friends’ uniquely decorated tree!”
There are 35 trees in the festival. They can be viewed from 4-6 December between 9am and 5pm, Sunday 6 December from 12-4pm and Monday 8 December from 9-4pm.
